We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) Specialist to conduct professional-level sweeps, inspections, and vulnerability assessments for corporate, government, law enforcement, and high-net-worth clients. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience using the latest Research Electronics International (REI) equipment, deep knowledge of modern eavesdropping threats, and the ability to produce high-quality reports and recommendations.
You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive TSCM operations—including RF spectrum analysis, NLJD inspections, wired-line analysis, thermal/infrared examinations, and physical searches—within office spaces, residences, vehicles, boardrooms, and other sensitive environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct full-spectrum TSCM inspections using modern REI equipment, including:
- REI MESA Spectrum Analyzer
- REI ORION 2.4 or 900 HX NLJD
- REI TALAN 3.0 Telephone & Line Analyzer
- CMA-100 Countersurveillance Microwave Analyzer
- Any additional REI tools relevant to advanced inspections
- Perform RF surveys, baseline comparisons, and analysis of unknown or suspicious signals
- Conduct physical inspections of offices, conference rooms, workspaces, vehicles, and sensitive locations
- Utilize thermal imaging, fiber-optic scopes, cable analyzers, and related equipment to identify vulnerabilities
- Evaluate telecommunications, VoIP setups, and wired/wireless network vulnerabilities
- Maintain meticulous documentation of findings and complete detailed, client-ready written reports
- Provide professional briefings to clients, including risk explanations and recommended mitigation strategies
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, tested, and calibrated before use
- Maintain client confidentiality and uphold strict operational security standards
- Assist with developing TSCM protocols, client education, and ongoing security programs.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on field experience conducting TSCM sweeps (2+ years preferred)
- Proficiency with the latest REI equipment, including OSCOR, ORION, TALAN, and associated REI tools
- Strong understanding of:
- RF spectrum behavior
- Modern eavesdropping technologies (analog, digital, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular, microwave, ultrasonic, optical, etc.)
- Wired-line vulnerabilities
- Physical/technical penetration methods
- Ability to write clear, professional, and detailed technical reports
- Strong observational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and client-interaction skills
- Ability to work independently in sensitive, high-stakes environments
- Must be able to lift and transport equipment cases
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed
- Must pass background screening
Preferred Qualifications
- REI TSCM Certification (Core Level 1, Advanced Level 2, or similar)
- Past government, military, intelligence, or law-enforcement technical experience
- Experience providing expert testimony or executive briefings
- Experience with:
- SDR platforms
- Network discovery and analysis tools
- Wi-Fi mapping / wireless intrusion detection
- Familiarity with TEMPEST/EMSEC principles
