We are seeking highly skilled and professional Firearms and Close Quarters Battle (CQB) Instructors to deliver advanced tactical training to law enforcement officers, security personnel, investigative units, and specialized protective teams. Candidates must have real-world operational experience conducting firearms, CQB, or high-risk entry operations, and must be fully familiar with the platforms and weapon systems they will be teaching.
This role includes delivering structured firearms instruction, CQB fundamentals, room-entry tactics, movement in restricted spaces, low-light/no-light operations, and tactical decision-making. Instructors must be capable of safely managing live-fire environments and scenario-based training evolutions with a high level of professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Firearms Instruction
- Teach pistol, rifle, and platform-specific firearms skills based on operational best practices
- Deliver instruction on marksmanship, weapons manipulation, reloads, malfunctions, movement, cover usage, and decision-making
- Safely run live-fire ranges, qualifications, and dynamic drills
- Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and range SOPs
- Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback
CQB / Tactical Training
- Teach foundational and advanced CQB skills, including:
- Threshold evaluation
- Room entries (single/man, team-based)
- Hallway movement
- T-intersections
- Stairwell operations
- Limited-penetration tactics
- Low-light and white-light considerations
- Instruct on use of force in confined spaces, angle management, and target discrimination
- Conduct scenario-based evolutions using UTM/SIMS or similar platforms
- Prepare and manage training facilities for CQB and force-on-force operations
Training Support & Development
- Assist in curriculum development and refinement of firearms and CQB lesson plans
- Conduct safety briefings, gear inspections, and pre-training checks
- Maintain accountability of weapons, ammunition, UTM/SIMS, and training equipment
- Produce after-action reviews (AARs) and student evaluations
- Support other tactical instructors during multi-discipline training days
Required Qualifications
- Real-world operational experience in law enforcement, military, or specialized tactical units conducting firearms and/or CQB operations
- Proven experience instructing firearms or CQB skills in a professional training environment
- Strong familiarity with the weapon systems used in training (e.g., 9mm pistol, 5.56 rifle, patrol rifle platforms, etc.)
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in both live-fire and force-on-force environments
- Excellent communication, instructional, and group management skills
- Strong understanding of use of force, tactical decision-making, and adult-learning principles
- Ability to lift equipment and operate for extended periods in dynamic training environments
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to training sites
Preferred Certifications (Any of the Following)
Firearms Instructor Certifications:
- NRA Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor
- FBI or Federal LE firearms instructor certification
- State Police / DCJS Firearms Instructor
- POST-certified firearms instructor (any state)
- Military instructor certifications (SOF, Infantry, MP, etc.)
- Certified UTM/SIMUNITION Instructor
CQB / Tactical Instructor Credentials:
- Military SOF / SWAT CQB instruction experience
- Police tactical team instructor (entry, breaching, active shooter)
- ALERRT Instructor
- Tactical Rifle/Pistol Instructor
- Low-Light Instructor certifications
Additional Valuable Experience:
- Force-on-Force instructor credentials
- Breaching operations (mechanical, ballistic, or explosive—depending on your offerings)
- Red Team or scenario design experience
- Prior protective operations or executive protection background
