Academy Support Staff

We are seeking reliable, organized, and motivated Academy Support Staff to assist with daily operations at our law enforcement and security training academy. This role supports both classroom-based instruction in New York City and tactical training programs in Westchester County.

Support Staff play a critical role in ensuring training sites are properly prepared, equipped, and maintained. Responsibilities include room setup/breakdown, equipment staging, student support, logistics assistance, and direct support to our tactical instructors during firearms, defensive tactics, scenario-based, and specialty training.

This is an excellent position for individuals interested in the law enforcement/security training environment, including aspiring instructors.

Key Responsibilities

Classroom Support (NYC)
  • Set up training rooms with chairs, desks, signage, handouts, AV equipment, and course materials
  • Break down and reset classrooms at the end of training sessions
  • Assist instructors with student sign-in, rosters, and distribution of course materials
  • Ensure compliance with classroom safety protocols
  • Support the management of supplies, printing, and logistics
Tactical Training Support (Westchester County)
  • Assist tactical training instructors during firearms, defensive tactics, scenario-based, and technical skills sessions
  • Help stage and transport training equipment (targets, props, simulation gear, protective equipment)
  • Maintain a safe training environment by following all range and facility protocols
  • support with target changes, equipment resets, and scenario transitions
  • Maintain and organize training equipment, ammunition (if applicable), and gear storage areas

Required Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license in good standing
  • Ability to travel between NYC and Westchester as needed
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality
  • Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 50 lbs)
  • Comfortable working in dynamic environments, including ranges and training facilities
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Professional demeanor and commitment to safety

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

  • Certified Range Training Officer (RTO) or equivalent
    • If not certified, we will provide full training and certification
  • Experience in law enforcement, security, military, or training environments
  • Familiarity with firearms safety rules and range operations
  • Experience with classroom logistics, facilities support, or instructional environments
  • Ability to assist with scenario-based training or role-player coordination
