We are seeking professional, knowledgeable, and dynamic Classroom Instructors to teach law enforcement, private security, and specialized technical training courses. Ideal candidates are certified New York State DCJS General Topics Instructors, NYPD General Topics Instructors, or hold comparable credentials in adult education, tactical instruction, or criminal justice.
Instructors will deliver structured classroom-based training to law enforcement officers, security personnel, first responders, and corporate clients. Courses may include: situational awareness, use of force, surveillance, investigations, emergency response, technical security, de-escalation, behavioral analysis, digital forensics, and related disciplines depending on expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality classroom instruction in accordance with approved lesson plans and training standards
- Teach interactive modules using adult learning principles and real-world examples
- Facilitate discussions, case studies, and scenario-based learning
- Ensure all training complies with NYS DCJS, NYPD, and internal curriculum guidelines
- Maintain a professional, engaging, safety-focused learning environment
- Evaluate participant performance through quizzes, practical assessments, and instructor observation
- Provide constructive feedback to students
- Assist in curriculum development and updates as needed
- Maintain accurate attendance, training records, and required documentation
- Coordinate with training staff to prepare classrooms, equipment, and materials
- Represent the company professionally to students, agency partners, and client organizations
Required Qualifications
- NYS DCJS General Topics Instructor certification or NYPD General Topics Instructor certification (highly preferred)
- Proven experience teaching law enforcement, criminal justice, or security-related coursework
- Strong communication and facilitation skills
- Ability to lead adult learners of varying skill levels and professional backgrounds
- Professional judgment, integrity, and reliability
- Comfortable teaching in both small and large group settings
- Ability to follow structured curricula while incorporating real-world expertise
- Must be punctual, organized, and able to manage classroom dynamics
- Ability to travel locally to training sites
- Must pass background screening
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional instructor certifications, such as:
- Firearms Instructor
- Defensive Tactics / Subject Control
- Taser / CEW Instructor
- CPR/First Aid Instructor
- De-escalation / Crisis Intervention training certifications
- Active Shooter Response / AVIRT Instructor
- Experience with scenario-based training, role-playing, or facilitation
- Previous law enforcement, military, or corporate security experience
- Familiarity with NYC-specific laws, regulations, and security industry standards
- Experience with digital forensics, TSCM, or technical security (for specialized courses)
